  • Expensive Deer Hunt

Well I finally got my first deer! Our youngest son, Darren (15) and I were cruising along at 3:00 the other morning, just getting into Montrose when a deer ran into us. I believe I actually drove over him as we felt a big bump. There was deer hair wedged in between the tire and the rim. The bumper was shoved into the steer tire, we had to pull it out before we could drive on. We looked for the deer and could not find it in the dark. We went back the next day and found this deer at about the right location, but am quite sure it was not the culprit as it already had an 'aroma'. It is hard to believe the deer got away but apparently he did! The price tag for this hunting trip is $9,800.00

The only other time that I remember even being in a vehicle that hit a deer was 13 years ago. Again my 15 year old son was with me, except this time Delton was driving, it was 2:00 AM, it was also in the city limits and it was also in December.

  • Yikes...not fun!! The similarities between the two times are eerie.....

  • Hmm looks bad

  • Not the best way to get a deer!

Christmas blessings to you and yours.

  • He made quite a dent on a big truck! I was driving home from Holmes County one Sunday when I hit one head on in the grill section of our van. I yelled, 'Everybody hang on!!' and Boom! It put our van out of commission and the buck landed right beside the road behind us. I hit one again about a year later! I am really phobic about night driving and deer! Hope you had a great Christmas!

  • I am sorry that happened to you. I hope you had a nice Christmas.

    Thanks for the visit.
